On August 8, Acura announced it will unveil the all-new ARX-05 racing car on August 18.
The ARX-05 was developed to mark Acura’s return to prototype racing. The name “ARX-05” is derived from “Acura Racing eXperimental generation 5.”
For this project, Acura collaborated with renowned racing team, Penske Racing. Led by former F1 driver Roger Penske, Penske Racing has accumulated over 460 victories over five decades mainly from competing in Indy Car and NASCAR.
Acura is scheduled to rev up the ARX-05 for the first time at the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship next year, starting with the Rolex 24 at Daytona Beach in January.
Acura has also released a teaser image of their brand new racer.
