Volkswagen Motorsport India has revealed their one-make series racer for the 2017 season.
The 2017 Ameo Cup car has been developed in India and is built at the Pune plant. The made-in-India race car is powered by a 1.8-liter TSI turbo-petrol engine which makes 205hp at 6100 rpm and a peak torque of 320Nm at 3200-4600 rpm.
New to the series this year is the 6-speed sequential gearbox which replaces the 7-speed DSG. Paddle shifters provided on the steering column can be used to swap cogs.
The Ameo Cup car rides on 17-inch wheels wrapped in MRF tires specifically developed for this model. The race car has special 334mm disc brakes up front and 232 mm at the rear.
The VW Ameo Cup race car is 4.6 sec faster than the 2016 Vento Cup car around Madras Motor Race Track.
