The 2016 Motorsports Fan Thanks Day, which marks the arrival of the motorsport season, kicked off on March 12, 2016. The popular all-new NSX was featured in this event.
The NSX made its appearance at the warm-up run on the morning of that day at the Honda Sports Time Handi-match that was announced. Super GT and Super Formula driver Naoki Yamamoto drove this all-new NSX. He immediately dashed through Suzuka Circuit in full throttle.
Of course, it was the first time for the all-new NSX to run in full performance in front of the fans at the Suzuka Circuit. It showed great acceleration that makes you think that it’s not a production car in the main straight, and the fans who were gathered at the stands since early in the morning, also looked surprised.
It’s Yamamoto’s first time to drive the NSX, and he flashed a smile as he was surprised with its high performance. Aside from that, Stoffel Vandoorne, who will be fully participating in Super Formula this season, also attended this event. He drove the Civic Type R and showed a full-throttle driving after doing vehicle warm ups.
The Honda Sports Time Handi-match was conducted in the afternoon today, and the NSX started later than the Civic Type R, the S660 and the CR-Z. How it was able to catch up with those machines caught everyone’s attention.
Aside from that, other race showdowns, such as the father-and-son showdown of Jean Alesi and Giuliano Alesi, and Satoru Nakajima vs. Kazuyoshi Hoshino vs. Masanori Sekiya, was also conducted during this event.
