2016 Tokyo Auto Salon: Lexus to simulate a race on a 1/59 scale circuit

Lexus will have an exhibition at the 2016 Tokyo Auto Salon to be held in Makuhari Messe from January 15 to 17. With speed as their concept, Lexus named their booth “Speed of F.”

The “Speed of F” is a 1/59 circuit that will be installed to express the speed and feel of a racing car, the joy of driving, and the ambiance of the track. A race track with vertical intervals will be prepared at the booth where a myriad of mini RC Fs will dash through. The elegance of a race and the edgy look of the Lexus F will be presented through this stylish track.

Mounted with the latest GoPro, the video footage taken by these mini cars as they dash across the track will be aired in the booth. In addition to experiencing what it’s like to be a racer, the speed in the 1/59 scale will provide that sense of astonishment to the viewers.

Furthermore, there will be a 360-degree camera installed at a fixed spot, and its video will be shown on a head-mounted display. With this 360-degree video, it will feel like you’re watching the race from the edge of the track.

There are three F models prepared for the exhibit: the racing version of the RC F GT500, and the production models RC F and GS F.
