The 2015 Honda Racing Thanks Day, the festival for Honda motor sports, will be held this year in Twin Ring Motegi on December 6. It has been revealed that Takuma Sato will be having a demo run of the all-new NSX, which had been unveiled in Japan the other day, at the event.
The time schedule for this weekend has already been published on the event’s official website. The schedule include “Challenging Spirits of Honda Sports Part.1 ~The tire tracks of production vehicles~” where successive generations of Honda’s production vehicles will be gathered. The successive generations of the Civic Type R, as well as the previous generation NSX, are slated to be on this event. Those racers who are participating in the Japanese races will drive the machines themselves to perform a demonstration run at the Motegi road course and at the Super Speedway (oval course).
The all-new Civic Type R and all-new NSX which first debuted at last month’s Tokyo Motor Show were also in the list of vehicles. Hideki Muto, who participated in the Super GT, and Takuma Sato, who participated in the IndyCar Series and was also involved in the test development of the NSX, are slated to drive the Civic and the NSX respectively.
So far, the NSX had only been seen in various events, beginning with the Tokyo Motor Show, as an exhibition vehicle, and this will be the first time that it will be driven in front of a crowd. It seems to be an unmissable event not only for motor sports fans but for car fans as well.
Tickets for the 2015 Honda Racing Thanks Day are now on sale on the official site. The admission ticket sold in advance for adults costs 2,000 yen.
