Suzuka 8 Hours: Team Kagayama in 3rd place, again on the podium thanks to teammates

The 2015 Coca-Cola Zero Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Road Race celebrated its 38th year this year. No.17 Team Kagayama (Yukio Kagayama/Noriyuki Haga/Ryuichi Kiyonari) was in third place and acquired their third podium appearance for three consecutive years. Comments from their riders were gathered.

Yukio Kagayama
“The Yamaha Factory Team and TSR were very strong rivals. However, thanks to my teammates, we were on the podium again. Today’s race was rough; even I fell down. However, my teammates helped me recover and the team staff were also great in responsing to the situation.”

Noriyuki Haga
“I think it is a wonderful thing that we were able to rise to the third place podium this year. It was a good performance as a privateer. Kiyonari’s third stint running was great. Although I do not know what will happen next year, I want to participate and aim for the championship if I have a chance.”

Ryuichi Kiyonari
“I fell down during the first and second day of the race week. I couldn’t have enough testing that led to the difference with the two motorcycles that ranked higher. Still, I am happy that we were able to be in third place and I would like to thank my teammates and the team staff.”
