At 22 hours and 40 minutes into the Le Mans 24 Hours Endurance Race, the Nissan GT-R LM Nismo, which ran doggedly from the rear, had to stop because of smoke coming out of its front cowl. Right when it was trying to restart, a fire broke out near its left fender.
It was deemed unable to restart and it retired with just 50 minutes of the race to go. Currently, the only GT-R LM Nismo was the #23 car.
