Suzuka 8 Hours: HRC announces participation of former MotoGP champ, Casey Stoner

On March 27, Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) officially announced that Casey Stoner will compete at the Suzuka 8 Hours endurance race.

As a MotoGP rider, Stoner has captured two championships, one in 2007 with Ducati, and the other in 2011 with Honda. He retired after the 2012 season and has continued his association with HRC as a test rider.

For Casey Stoner, this will mark his debut in the Suzuka 8 Hours and is his first race in 12 years at Suzuka Circuit since competing in the opening race of the MotoGP (GP125 class) back in 2003.

President Hiroshi Soda of Mobilityland that sponsors the Suzuka 8 Hours, said, “I’m tremendously excited about Casey Stoner’s participation in the Suzuka 8 Hours. His masterful driving and the two championships he brings will have a great impact on the motorcycle community around the world. Along with his fans, I’m looking forward to seeing his performance in the mid-summer conditions of Suzuka.”
