Yamaha to release V-IXION R in Indonesia

Yamaha Motor Company will release its all-new V-IXION R naked sports bike featuring a liquid-cooled 155cc fuel-injected VVA (variable valve actuation) engine in Indonesia from August.

As a high-end version of the current V-IXION series, the V-IXION R is a platform model for the naked sports category utilizing the engine and frame of the YZF-R15 released in April of this year. The V-IXION R comes equipped with an A&S (Assist & Slipper) clutch, which reduces the lever operation load, and is designed to offer a premium sports feel through updates to its coloring and under cowl.

Since its debut back in 2007, the V-IXION series has been in high demand for its sporty styling and exceptional performance. Along with the R series, which includes the YZF-R15, the V-IXION series has been a leader in the sports model market. The Indonesian motorcycle market currently consists of 5.6 million units, of which approximately 10% are sports models. For the V-IXION R, Yamaha has enhanced the base riding performance and premium feel in response to the demands of single males in their 20s seeking a sports model that combines practicality with enjoyable touring performance.

The V-IXION R is priced at 28.8 million rupiah (approx. 236,000 yen).
