On November 22, Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) revealed a video that previews some of the possibilities from its new motorcycles featuring artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
This past summer, KHI moved forward with its plans on developing next-generation motorcycles that “have a personality and can grow along with the rider†through use of information and communications technology (ICT) and AI. It will feature an Emotion Generation Engine and Natural Language Dialogue System, which determines the rider’s intent and emotions based on their spoken words. By enabling communication between the rider and motorcycle, KHI seeks to provide a completely new riding experience that has never been seen before.
The recently released video explores some of the possibilities that can be achieved from this project with scenes of communication between the motorcycle and rider for adjusting the machine’s settings as well as providing communication with family members.
