Suzuki’s Indonesia subsidiary Suzuki Indomobil Motor (SIM) unveiled the new GSX-R150 and GSX-S150 for the ASEAN market at the Indonesia Motorcycle Show, which opened its doors November 2.
Demand is high in the ASEAN region for motorcycles and scooters for everyday use, as well as for bike enthusiasts as a hobby. Suzuki has been exporting models like the full-sized Hayabusa to the ASEAN region but is now stepping up its model lineup to meet the demands of different demographics with the small engine capacity GSX-R150 and GSX-S150 to boost the Suzuki brand in the region.
These two models are compact and light, and equipped with liquid-cooled 4-valve single-cylinder DOHC engines. The GSX-R150 is a new super sport model with sporty styling. It has a keyless ignition system and the Suzuki Easy Start System, which allows the rider to start the engine with one push of the starter. The GSX-S150 is a street sport bike with a low position. It has a steering block with an action-style shutter and the Suzuki Easy Start System.
The GSX-R150 and GSX-S150 will be built by SIM and released at the beginning of 2017 first in Indonesia, and then in other ASEAN countries.
