Intermot 2016: Yamaha to release first updated MT-09 with new front mask

Yamaha made minor changes to the full-sized naked MT-09 and unveiled the improved model at Intermot 2016 in Cologne, Germany. It has announced that the model will go on sale at the end of December, 2016, in Europe.

The MT-09 was released in 2013 globally but with its focus on Europe. It is an addition to the M series with the MT-10, MT-07, MT-03, MT-25 and MT-125, and earned a reputation with its excellent riding performance and its styling, which is a unique mix of naked and super motard.

The new MT-09 was developed along the concept of “Multi performance Neo roadster.” New features include the front mask with 4 compact LED headlights and full-sized air scoop, fear fender with movable aluminum stay, A&S (Assist & Slipper) clutch that allows smooth response when shifting down, and QSS (Quick Shift System), which allows for smooth up-shifting.
