Honda will release the CRF1000L Africa Twin adventure bike, equipped with a newly-developed engine, on February 22, 2016.
The CRF1000L Africa Twin was produced in 1988, and it is an adventure bike that runs on various roads, from on-road riding in city streets, up to highways and unpaved roads. With the development concepts “Can ride anywhere” and “True Adventure,” they developed a model that has equipment and technologies that would be suitable for next-generation adventure-type models.
It has been equipped with a newly developed water-cooled four-stroke OHC inline 2-cylinder 998cc engine. The engine adopts imbalanced firing intervals from its 270 degree crankshaft as well as its phase fire control system in its twin plug, so it generates an excellent traction performance. Moreover, it has excellent off-road performance and stable handling when riding on the road through adopting a semi-double cradle frame, which guarantees ample rigidity despite its light weight.
Moreover, it has better controllability that runs along with the riders during on-road and off-road riding through a dual clutch transmission (DCT) for motorcycles. The entire model has also been added with Selectable Torque Control as standard equipment, which effectively transmits more power even on rough roads.
It is available with three body colors: Victory Red, Pearl Glare White, and Digital Silver Metallic.
It costs from 1,350,000 yen to 1,490,400 yen. yen.
