YZF-R1 / R1 M Owners’ Meeting offers a full day of education, activities and circuit excitement at Sportsland Sugo

On September 21, the YZF-R1 / R1 M Owners’ Meeting was held at the Sportsland Sugo race course in Murata, Miyazaki Prefecture. At the event, the new YZF-R1 / R1 M was unveiled. The event also commemorated the introduction of Presto Corporation Japan.

Around 20 owners of the new 2015 YZF-R1 / R1 M, which is sold by Presto, attended the event. Participants rode on the international racing course used for test runs of the new model during development with guidance and advice from instructors.

The event had a rental service for participants who came without proper racing gear. What was especially impressive was the consideration given to make sure every level, from beginner to advanced, could enjoy the event.

A talk was given by former Yamaha works rider and Yamalube Racing Team director Kyoji Nanba and Yamaha SP development head Toyoshi Nishida, who worked on the new model’s development. Participants were also given a chance to learn more about the machine through an opportunity to talk with Yamalube Racing Team riders Nozane and Fujita.

It was an exciting day chock full of R1 where owners could get their fill and appreciate the high potential of the race ready YZF-R1 / R1 M.
