Honda held a test run to check the condition of the vehicles in its Honda Collection Hall on August 25 at the Twin Link Motegi South Course. Here are pictures of the 1999 Honda RVF/RC45, which participated in the run.
Although Tadayuki Okada and Alex Barros raced the RVF/RC45 at Suzuki 8 Hours in 1999 under rainy and difficult conditions, they won a third straight victory. The model that superseded the VFR750R/RC30 with a new V4 engine, the RVF/RC45 set a record by winning a total of 5 of the 6 rounds at its Suzuka debut in 1994.
This machine, with its red Lucky Strike design, was the last Honda works bike to run in Suzuka 8 Hours. It ran in 1999, and the preceding year was replaced by the V2 VTR1000SPW.
