On August 25, Honda conducted its Honda Collection Hall test run at the south course of Twin Ring Motegi. Featured here are photos of the Honda RC149 built in 1966.
The RC149 competed in the 125cc class of the 1966 World GP and recaptured the title it lost to its two-stroke rival the year before. It features a 125cc 4-stroke DOHC 5-cylinder engine that generates 34ps/20,500rpm. Its 8-speed transmission has recorded speeds of more than 210km/h.
Luigi Taveri rode the RC149 in this season, winning five of ten races and capturing both the rider’s and constructor’s championships in the 125cc class.
