Hasegawa displayed the Suzuki Jimny JA11-5 ahead of its release to show off its excellent craftsmanship at the All Japan Model Hobby Show, which is held from September 23 to 25 at Tokyo Big Sight.
The kit is based on the last JA11 type 5 model which was from the Jimny’s 2nd generation’s third era from 1990 to 1995. It is a model that still enjoys popularity today with its angular form and new light 660ccF6A engine.
Based on the actual materials of the model, the kit has the stylish “Van HC” form and faithfully reproduces the features in the interior. With its construction that reproduces the suspension’s ability to drive on uneven ground, it is a dynamic display that hints at its off-road performance. Staff explains, “This is the final leaf suspension Jimny JA11. We managed to reproduce its movements.”
Buyers can choose standard wheel or aluminum wheel, and also models equipped with spare tires. It has the Jimny logo, S mark, and metal inlet for the mirrors. It’s set for release in December 2016 for 3,200 yen.
