Nissan Motor Corporation has launched its Nissan IMx all-electric crossover concept at the 45th Tokyo Motor Show 2017, which began on October 25.
The IMx is a preview of what Nissan Intelligent Mobility will offer in the future. Nissan’s latest autonomous driving technology ProPILOT has been enhanced for fully autonomous driving that eliminates the necessity of any operation by the driver. By selecting ProPILOT drive mode, the steering wheel is stored inside the dashboard, the seating is fully reclined, and the driver and passengers can relax while cruising along. When manual drive mode is selected, the steering wheel emerges, the seating is adjusted for optimal driving position, and the driver can be in control of the vehicle.
The IMx is powered by a twin-motor 4WD system with a pair of high output motors at the front and rear to generate 320kW (435ps) of output and 700Nm of torque. The EV platform’s body and chassis along with a low center of gravity combine to offer sporty handling that embodies the crossover segment. The high-capacity battery featuring enhanced energy density allows the IMx to be driven for over 600km on a single charge.
