Mazda to showcase two concepts embodying next-gen technology and design

Mazda Motor Corporation will showcase two concepts expressing the direction of its next-generation technology and design at the 45th Tokyo Motor Show 2017 to be held from October 25 to November 5 (general admission from October 28) at Tokyo Big Sight.

One of these is a next-gen product concept model, a compact hatchback combining Mazda’s next-generation technology and design. It offers refined dynamic performance through its SKYACTIV-X, which has realized the use of compression ignition on a gasoline engine for the first time, and SKYACTIV-Vehicle Architecture, which provides enhanced riding comfort and a quieter ride. Moreover, the vehicle embodies Mazda’s ideal compact hatchback through condensing its next-generation design.

The other concept is a next-gen design vision model featuring a reinforced version of Mazda’s Kodo design theme, which has been rated highly around the world since debuting on the CX-5 back in 2012. This model represents the next generation of Mazda’s design.

Mazda’s booth will also feature the CX-8, an all-new three-row crossover SUV set for release in December; the Red Top, a special edition Mazda Roadster (MX-5) equipped with a dark cherry red top and auburn red Nappa leather interior; and Noble Crimson, a special edition Mazda Demio (Mazda2).
