Toyota to debut new third-generation Century in Tokyo

Toyota Motor Corporation will unveil its all-new Century at the 45th Tokyo Motor Show 2017 to be held from October 25 to November 5 (general admission from October 28) at Tokyo Big Sight.

Scheduled for release in mid-2018, the third-generation Century was developed based on the concept of legacy and evolution. It features an interior and exterior design that inherits the Century’s heritage and offers new charm. It also comes with advanced equipment and comfort amenities that can only be found on a luxury limousine.

The new Century offers top-of-the-class fuel efficiency through its 5.0-liter V8 direct injection engine and hybrid system. It also provides a quiet and smooth ride through its two-stage motor speed reduction device for the transmission. Moreover, an extended wheelbase, a reduced height difference between the scuff plate and floor, and a higher door opening have all contributed to refining the rear seating area.

For its exquisitely designed and glamorous exterior, Toyota has established a crown pattern for the dual structure of the grille behind the vertical bars and clearance lamps. In addition, the integration of three projector headlamps and LED Array AHS has generated a luxury sedan-like distinctive appearance.

As for its interior, Toyota has given the new Century world-class elegance by establishing a raised ceiling design for the rear seating as well as traditional patterns for the upholstery. In addition, the rear seating area comes with a power leg rest and adjustable rear seats with a massage function for a comfortable and graceful ride.
