On July 20, Nissan announced that their new model Leaf, set to release this September, will come with the company’s “e pedal” technology.
The e pedal is the world’s first single pedal driving system. By pressing a switch, the accelerator switches to the e pedal, allowing the driver to speed up, slow down, or stop with the e pedal only.
Drivers can cover 90% of their driving needs using the e pedal. The e pedal will substantially lower the need for the driver to switch between pedals during traffic jams or when cruising along.
Nissan commented that “e pedal technology signifies a major milestone in Nissans continuous attempts to implement accessible and sophisticated driver support technology into mainstream vehicles.”
