Mitsubishi to reveal brand new minivan in Indonesia

On July 17, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation announced that it will unveil a new minivan at the 2017 Indonesia International Motor Show, which commences on August 10.

Mitsubishi has yet to reveal any details on this vehicle, including its name. However, it will be the production model for the XM Concept, a concept car that was showcased at last year’s motor show in Jakarta.

Through an optimized layout and establishing a wide body, the XM Concept offers an interior that’s spacious enough for seven passengers to sit comfortably. The front end features Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield design concept, which “embraces and safeguards both people and car.”

The XM Concept also offers SUV-like styling and features such as high ground clearance and enlarged front/rear fenders on its extended and sporty body for added sense of security. Mitsubishi is scheduled to begin production for the soon-to-be-unveiled compact crossover minivan this October at their new Bekasi plant in West Java, Indonesia.

The Japanese automaker has revealed a teaser image of this new minivan, which offers a taste of its XM Concept inspired appearance featuring Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield.
