Toyota applies for trademark on TJ Cruiser. Could this be the successor to the FJ Cruiser?

Toyota has registered a trademark for what we believe to be a new SUV for the American market.

This information was listed on the US patent office website. On May 25, Toyota registered a trademark for the TJ Cruiser.

During August of 2016, Toyota ended production of their FJ Cruiser. The TJ Cruiser for which they recently applied for a trademark seems to hint at the idea that this new TJ Cruiser will serve as a successor to the FJ Cruiser.

Incidentally, at the New York Motor Show this past April, Toyota gave the world its first look at the company’s concept car, dubbed the FT-4X. There have been reports that this FT-4X will serve as the basis for the FJ Cruiser’s successor in the future.
