Toyota launches FT-4X for outdoor enthusiasts

On April 12, Toyota Motor Corporation unveiled its FT-4X concept at the 2017 New York International Auto Show in the U.S.

This compact SUV is a design concept that offers new possibilities for the outdoors. Designed by Calty, the FT-4X was developed to target young consumers up to around the mid-30s living in the city or the so-called Millennial Generation.

This concept was designed based on the theme “rugged charm.” The exterior offers distinctive styling based on “X” or “crossover” and features a horizontal grille that embodies Toyota’s traditional SUV design. The FT-4X is also based on a TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform and its four-wheel drive system offers fun rides and exceptional off-road performance.

For the interior, Toyota has established a radio and interior lights that can be removed and used as a portable stereo and flashlight. Moreover, the FT-4X features an abundance of unique features and designs that are suited for the outdoors such as door handles that can be used as water bottles and a sleeping bag stored in the center console that functions as an armrest.
