Volvo is set to introduce its performance arm, Polestar, in the Indian market. The S60 Polestar will be the first of their offerings and will be launched on April 14.
Polestar is like the AMG or M-Division of the Swedish car maker. The company intially plans to launch the S60 Polestar sedan. However, some sources suggest the V60 Polestar estate could also be on its way.
That said, the S60 Polestar is set to replace the range-topping S60 T6 petrol version. The 306hp performance sedan is currently the most powerful S60 on sale here in India. It will be replaced with a 367hp S60 Polestar offering an alternative to the Mercedes-AMG C43.
The S60 Polestar uses a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine. That sounds tiny compared to the old 3.0-liter six-pot, however it makes 367hp thanks to a combination of a turbo and supercharger. All-wheel drive is standard and it uses an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
