Skoda is set to enter the premium SUV segment soon. The Skoda Kodiaq made its global debut at the Geneva Motor Show. Now, the Czech plans to launch it in India. The Kodiaq is expected to go on sale in September.
That said, Kodiaq test mules have already been spotted on Indian roads, further confirming its impending launch.
The Kodiaq shares its underpinnings with the Superb. The 7-seater will be available with a choice of petrol or diesel engines when it arrives in India.
Expect the Kodiaq to feature a 2.0-liter TSI petrol engine; however, the 2.0-liter TDI diesel would be the more preferred choice. Two versions of the diesel are expected to be offered with a 150hp base model and a top-end version powered by a 190hp unit. A 5-speed manual transmission will be standard with the option of a 7-speed DSG on higher variants. An all-wheel drive Kodiaq will complete the lineup.
The Skoda Kodiaq is expected to priced in the range of Rs 27-32 lakh.
