Škoda to unveil Level 3 autonomous driving Vision E in Shanghai

Czech Republic-based Škoda, which belongs to the Volkswagen Group, announced on March 29 that it will unveil the Vision E at the 2017 Auto Shanghai, which opens its doors April 19.

The Vision E is the first EV of Škoda’s concept car series. Its powerful motor allows it to reach a maximum speed of 180km/h. Its high-capacity lithium ion battery allows it to drive up to 500km with one charging.

The Vision E is also equipped with autonomous driving technology. According to Škoda, its automatic driving technology fits into the “Level 3” category. Level 3 means that the car handles basic driving and the human driver is needed only in emergency situations.

The exterior design presents an emotional 5-door SUV. The body size is 4645mm long, 1917mm wide and 1550mm tall.
