Isuzu is set to launch the MU-X SUV in the market. The premium off-roader is expected to arrive on May 11 and will be offered in multiple variants with all-wheel drive and automatic transmission as an option.
The key rivals of the MU-X will most certainly be the Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour. Both these models have recently been overhauled. So, how the MU-X stacks up against the market leaders will have to be seen.
The Isuzu MU-X is based on the Chevrolet Trailblazer which is quite evident from the exterior proportions. But, unlike the Trailblazer which is imported into the country, the MU-X will be locally assembled giving it a clear advantage over its Chevy-badged cousin.
It is expected to be powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine. Initially, the MU-X will be offered with all-wheel drive only. Down the line, to remain competitive, Isuzu could launch cheaper versions of the MU-X with rear-wheel drive only.
Expect the Isuzu MU-X to be priced around Rs 24 lakhs.
