The new SsangYong Rexton SUV was internationally teased a week ago. And now, it is being relaunched in the Indian automotive market under Mahindra. The new SUV designed for the Indian market is offering a few modifications to suit the South Asian country.
Some of the notable tweaks include a new grille with vertical elements, which are being designed by Mahindra so that it stays similar to the automaker’s line-up. The next-gen SsangYong Rexton will also get Mahindra logo and will be priced above the XUV500, sitting on the list of the company’s premium SUV variants. Moreover, the new SUV is reported to rival Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner.
The India-spec next-gen Rexton SUV will power at 184hp with a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine, which is supported by 420Nm of torque. The engine of the vehicle is noted to offer a six-speed automatic transmission as well. There will also be a 225hp power variant with 2.0-litre petrol unit, which the company will launch in the upcoming months.
