Hyundai’s FE Fuel Cell Concept, premiered at the Geneva International Motor Show 2017, gives a look at where the company is headed in terms of moving into a fuel cell-based future. Much like the ix35 Fuel Cell currently being marketed, this vehicle takes the form of an SUV.
The FE Fuel Cell Concept uses 4th generation Hyundai fuel cell technology. According to the auto manufacturer, the technology is 20% lighter and 10% more efficient than that currently being utilized. Hyundai’s new fuel cell vehicles, which have been heavily influenced by the direction this concept takes, are planned to be released in 2018 and are thought to have an operational range of over 800km.
