With Tata Nexon ready for a launch later this year, we would like our readers to get an insight of what the upcoming SUV features.
Being the first sub-metre SUV by Tata, the car could compete with the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza and the Ford EcoSport. According to reports, the concept variant of the Tata Nexon shown at the Auto Expo 2016 is also the production design for the launching vehicle. Taking a look at the engine, it will feature a new 1.5-litre module with 108bhp power running at 260Nm torque making it offer high-end power.
In addition, the Tata Nexon, launching for the Indian market, will be equipped with Tamo Racemo’s 190PS 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol unit, but it will not be in a tuned state. Tata is reportedly going to tune it to provide the vehicle with 120 to 125PS so that it can rival with Ford EcoSport’s 1.0-litre EcoBoost.
The diesel version is said to offer a six-speed manual transmission which is the first of its kind in India. The petrol one will have five-speed manual transmission. The premium models may get AWD system as well. Interiors will have a touchscreen infotainment system as well. Pre-production of the Tata Nexon has been started and is expected to official produce by Q2 2017.
