Lexus planning mass market version of UX Concept

Lexus has decided to make a mass market version of the UX Concept. The UX Concept is Lexus’ smallest SUV and was unveiled in the fall of 2016.

This was revealed at the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show by Lexus International Executive Vice President Yoshihiro Sawa. He discussed a market version of the UX Concept, saying, “Get ready for the UX. Its release won’t be far off.”

The UX Concept is a concept model that shows the future of Lexus’ compact crossovers. It’s 4,400mm long, 1,900mm wide and 1,520mm tall with a 2,640mm wheelbase.

The length is 230mm shorter than the Lexus’ flagship SUV the NX. The UX Concept suggests a compact SUV that holds the second place after the NX.

It appears that a mass market Lexus UX Concept would be part of an initiative to win over more young drivers than before.
