The RUF CTR makes a comeback

On March 7, German tuner RUF, which builds high performance cars based on Porsche models, unveiled the new RUF CTR at the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show.

The original RUF CTR made its debut in 1987. RUF took the Porsche 911/930 Carrera and fully tuned its body, engine and chassis to give it an incredibly high level of performance.

RUF has given the new CTR a specially designed carbon fiber body and monocoque. It has reproduced the original CTR from 30 years before.

Its 3.6L horizontally opposed V6 twin turbo engine gets 710ps with 89.7kgm of torque. It’s an RR with a 6-speed manual transmission. The new CTR can go from 0 to 100km/h in 3.5 seconds and has a maximum speed of over 360km/h.

Known as a Porsche specialist, RUF has built a number of complete cars based on Porsche models. It is recognized as an official automaker in Germany.
