On March 1, the Euro NCAP consortium reported on the results of the Toyota C-HR’s collision and safety test. It gave the model the highest rank of 5 stars. Euro NCAP is the only organization that carries out public collision testing in Europe.
The Euro NCAP ran a frontal offset test at 64km/h, lateral test at 50km/h, pole collision test at 32km/h and pedestrian collision test at 40km/h. As the standards for the US and Japan are very similar, the tests were carried out under the world’s strictest conditions.
Euro NCAP gave the C-HR an overall score of 5 stars, which is the highest possible score. Toyota Motor Europe’s Executive Vice President for Sales Karl Schlicht commented, “These very good safety results, particularly in active safety, show that the Toyota C-HR has much more to offer than outstanding style. Our aim was to make C-HR dynamically fun and safe to drive.”
