2017 Geneva International Motor Show: Lexus to debut all-new LS500h featuring Multi Stage Hybrid System

On February 22, Lexus announced it will feature its Multi Stage Hybrid System on their all-new LS500h, which will be unveiled next month at the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show, in Switzerland.

The new LS500h is a hybrid model for the new LS. Lexus’s newly developed Multi Stage Hybrid combines a four-stage shift device with a two-motor hybrid system, allowing for power control from both the engine and motor. Along with improved throttle responsiveness, it offers high-speed cruising at lower engine rpm and the ability to cruise at higher speeds.

Moreover, through improvements to its system efficiency, the LS500h provides longer EV cruising from low- to high speeds. As a result, it combines an emotional ride and comfortable cruising with exceptional fuel efficiency.

The hybrid powertrain is a 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine with dual motors. Though Lexus has yet to reveal any details, the new LS500h will generate speeds of up to 140km/h at EV mode.
