2017 Geneva International Motor Show: Mercedes to unveil limited edition G650 Landaulet

On February 14, Mercedes-Benz announced that it would make the world premiere of the Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet at the Geneva International Motor Show in March and it will produce a limited run of the model of 99.

The G650 Landaulet is the first SUV for the Mercedes-Maybach luxury brand. The base model is the Mercedes-Benz G Class, which is known for its excellent off-road performance. Like the G63 6X6 and G500 4X4 Squared, the G650 Landaulet has portal axles. The minimum ground clearance is 450 mm to offer excellent driving performance on rough road conditions.

The powertrain is a unit that supercharges a 6.0L V12 gasoline engine with two turbos. It puts out 630hp with 102kgm of torque, which offers ample power and torque to its heavy body.

In the past, Mercedes has given the name Landaulet to other luxury convertibles. Continuing in this tradition, the G650 Landaulet is open only for the back seats. The separate back seats were designed for comfort and luxury.

Mercedes is producing the G650 Landaulet in a limited run of only 99 units. Deliveries are set to start in the fall of 2017. It is an even more exclusive model than the Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Cabriolet, which was produced in a run of 300.
