On February 16. Honda announced that it will unveil the new Civic Type R mass market model at the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show in March.
Honda displayed a next-gen Civic Type R prototype at the Paris Motor Show in fall, 2016. Now, a half-year later, it plans to unveil the mass market version in Geneva.
The prototype was based on the new Civic 5-door hatchback but featured low and wide styling. The design was even more aggressive and virile.
Features include large openings for the front bumper and an air vent for the hood. It is built for aerodynamics in all areas. The rear bumper has a diffuser. The 3-pipe center muffler gives it an especially creative design, and it has new 20-inch aluminum wheels. All of this means a serious performance upgrade for the Civic Type R.
