Nissan unveiled the Vmotion 2.0 concept car at the 2017 North American International Auto Show on January 9. The Vmotion 2.0 gives a glimpse of Nissan’s next-generation sedan design.
The front is designed around the V Motion signature that Nissan uses for many other models including the Murano mid-sized crossover and Maxima full-sized 4-door sedan. The V Motion signature gives the front design volume and a sense of solidity. The V Motion grille sets the tone for the front design with a sharp and forceful front face. To match the front’s boldness, the side has a distinct character line that stretches the length of the vehicle.
A standout feature of the silhouette is the floating roof, which has a line flowing smoothly from the A pillar to the trunk. A proprietary carbon finish emblazoned with thin silver thread adds accents to the roofline. The exterior also features Nissan’s new design expression “Emotional Geometry.”
The rear has a luxurious and bold design. The boomerang-shaped tail limps emphasize its sense of width. The dynamic and high rigidity body has copper-based silver painting which presents different shades depending on the angle.
Nissan Senior Vice President and Chief Creative Officer Shiro Nakamura says, “The copper coloring is a trend being used in many industries like fashion, product design, interior design, and so on. We wanted to use this color for accents together with other materials like satin silver and chrome.”
