Honda says that it plans to expand its electric car lineup for the US market over the next two years.
At a January 9 press conference for the 2017 North American International Auto Show, Honda President Takahiro Hachigo said, “Half of Honda’s new models for the US market over the next two years will be electric models.”
Honda aims to make the electric car category its main one. The announcement by Hachigo is part of that effort.
As part of the plan, Honda plans to begin building and selling new hybrid models locally in the US. It was also revealed that new EV and hybrid models will be derived from the Clarity Fuel Vehicle FCV.
