The City, Honda’s compact sedan for developing countries, is about to get a new model. This is according to an announcement on the company’s Thai Facebook page, which says that the new model will appear next month.
The City is a compact 4-door sedan aimed at developing countries. The new model is its 4th generation model and was developed at the Honda R&D Center in Japan. It was introduced in India in January, 2014, and then rolled out to 60 markets globally including those of ASEAN countries.
The concept behind the development of the new model was to create the world’s number one mid-sized sedan. At each step of the development process, three key points were stressed: advanced and sporty design, the best in comfort, and the best in fuel economy. The body is 4440mm long, 1695mm wide and 1495mm tall with a 2600mm wheelbase. The length and width are the same as the previous model but the new model is 10mm taller and its wheelbase is 50mm longer.
The model that is about to be unveiled in Thailand is the first new model with significant improvements since its debut three years ago. The Teaser images show the new design of the headlights.
