On December 21, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation commenced sales of its partially updated i-MiEV electric vehicle.
For this minor upgrade, Mitsubishi has installed switches on the center panel for enhanced operability as well as a cup holder tray on the center console for placing small items. Moreover, the front seat has been reformed for better support and genuine leather has been wrapped on the steering wheel and shift knob for enhanced elegance.
From a functionality perspective, the regenerative brake power, which was adjustable in three different modes through the shift selector on the floor, now offers six adjustable modes through a paddle installed on the steering column. In addition, the i-MiEV features a new air conditioning function that enables the use of the air conditioner while charging.
The i-MiEV comes available in a total of five exterior colors including new Red Metallic and Lightning Blue Mica. Though the i-MiEV is priced from 2,273,400 yen to 2,624,400 yen, this price becomes 2,158,400 yen to 2,448,400 yen after qualifying for “subsidies for measures designed to promote introduction of clean energy vehicles,†implemented by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
