Subaru to release all-new Chiffon mini car

On December 13, Fuji Heavy Industries (Subaru) will release its all-new Chiffon mini car.

The new Chiffon, an OEM model of the Daihatsu Tanto, is Subaru’s first “more space” type mini car featuring the most spacious interior in its class. In addition to its dual sliding doors, the passenger side door has been expanded to 1,490mm by installing the B-pillar inside the door. It offers loads of features for daily convenience including a long-sliding passenger’s seat, smooth access to and from the rear seats and easy loading and unloading of cargo.

As for safety features, the Chiffon comes standardized with the new Smart Assist III on all trims. By advancing from the traditional monocular camera & laser radar to a stereo camera, Subaru has enhanced its safety features including an expansion of operation speeds, emergency braking against pedestrians and high-beam assist.

Moreover, by reducing its weight through resinification of the front fender and rear gate as well as reducing air resistance through integrating the rear gate and roof spoiler, all Chiffon trims achieved the 2020 fuel emission standards.

The new Chiffon is priced from 1,285,200 yen to 1,873,800 yen.
