Nissan Sentra NISMO Concept

2016 Los Angeles Auto Show: Nissan to introduce new NISMO model

On November 10, Nissan North America announced that it will unveil a new NISMO model at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show, which commences on November 16 in the US.

Three years ago at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show, Nissan introduced its Sentra NISMO Concept. Based on the new Sentra, Nissan’s leading compact sedan for the North American market, this concept features the high performance and sportiness that NISMO is known for.

The exterior comes with an exclusive bumper, grille, front lip spoiler, side skirts, rear spoiler and other features. According to Nissan North America, the designs for the rear spoiler and center rear fog lamps were inspired by the diffuser on the Nissan 370Z (the Fairlady Z, in Japan).

As for the engine, its 1.8-liter inline four-cylinder gasoline unit (130ps of maximum output and 17.7kgm of maximum torque) is replaced by a direct injection 1.6-liter inline four-cylinder gasoline turbo system equipped on the Juke NISMO RS. Through tuning by NISMO, the engine was expanded to a 1.8-liter unit that generates over 240ps of maximum output and 33.2kgm of maximum torque.

So what can we expect from Nissan and NISMO at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show? Nissan North America will be announcing the details of its new NISMO model on November 15, ahead of the opening day.
