On October 13, it was revealed that the Honda Civic Si Turbo will be unveiled at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show, which commences on November 14.
The Civic Si is a long-established sport trim for the US market. Its previous model features a 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder i-VTEC gasoline engine that generates 201ps of maximum output and 23.5kgm of maximum torque. Combined with a six-speed manual transmission, it offers a comfortable ride at any speed that’s typical of Honda’s naturally aspirated engine.
For its 2014 model, Honda retuned its engine to enhance its maximum output by 4ps (from the previous model) to 205ps and maximum torque by 0.6kgm to 24.1kgm.
As indicated by its model name, the soon-to-be-unveiled Si Turbo will come equipped with a turbo engine. It looks as though the Si Turbo will be ranked in between the Civic’s top-of-the-line Type R and its basic model.
