On October 13, Honda Motor Company launched its all-new CR-V in the US for the North American market.
In 1997, the CR-V made its debut in the US. Since then for nearly 20 years, it has continued to maintain its position as a bestseller in the SUV segment. It has become a global model that represents the Honda brand and sales have reached nearly four million units in the US.
Along with its traditional direct injection 2.4-liter DOHC i-VTEC engine, the new fifth-generation CR-V offers a direct injection 1.5-liter turbo engine for the first time. With this, Honda has enhanced its powerful ride and exceptional fuel efficiency even more.
The new CR-V features updates all around the vehicle inside and out. The exterior offers a more dauntless and sporty look and the cabin provides more spaciousness and elegance. Moreover, the new model was developed to become a benchmark for compact SUVs that offer new values in all aspects through features such as its latest driving safety system, Honda Sensing.
The North American version of the new CR-V will be assembled at Honda’s East Liberty Auto Plant in Ohio, USA and Honda of Canada Manufacturing in Ontario, Canada. It will also be manufactured for the first time at their Indiana plant (Honda Manufacturing of Indiana).
