2016 Paris Motor Show: Lexus to unveil UX Concept with 3D instrument panel

On September 29, Lexus will unveil the UX Concept at the 2016 Paris Motor Show and its innovative interior is sure to draw some attention.

The interior is equipped with the Human Machine Interface technology, which offers a high-tech 3D driving experience.

What provides this experience is the driver’s side instrument panel, which shows various kinds of information using a floating transparent spherical hologram. In addition, the center console has a hologram inside a crystal with a cut surface that displays air-conditioner and infotainment information. These features allow both the driver and passenger to view various kinds of information in a new and innovative way.

It is also equipped with the latest electronic technology such as electric mirrors and dimming glass. The electric mirror camera allows the mirror to be smaller and thinner than the existing mirror. It displays what it sees through an on-board screen. All of the switches are located under a transparent cover atop the center console.

Other features that give the interior a top-class design include the fin-shaped A pillar and the detachable speakers on the passenger side instrument panel. Lexus says, “The UX Concept expresses a unique view of the world with its interior brimming with advanced technology.”
