2016 Paris Motor Show: Honda’s next-gen Civic Type R likely to be unveiled

Honda Motor Company could soon be launching a concept for their next-gen Civic Type R.

According to British auto media, Auto EXPRESS, Honda will debut the Civic Type R Concept along with its all-new Civic Hatchback in late September at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.

We can certainly expect Honda to also establish the Type R for its new Civic Hatchback, for which images have already been released in the US. This dual unveiling will have a tremendous impact at the Paris Motor Show if it were to occur.

The current Civic Type R features a new direct injection 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder VTEC gasoline turbo engine that generates 310ps/6,500rpm of maximum output and 40.8kgm/2,500rpm of maximum torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in 5.7 seconds and reaches speeds of up to 270km/h.

The new Civic Type R will certainly offer even greater power and performance than its current model. Along with a projected image, Auto EXPRESS has reported that its maximum output will be in the 340ps range.
