At the end of May, Lexus announced that it was beginning a European tour of the new LC500 and LC500h coupe.
The Lexus LC500 made its debut at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show. The LC500h is the hybrid version and it made its world premiere at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
The LC500 is Lexus’ new luxury 2-door coupe. Its frame uses a newly developed FR platform and it has proportions designed for a dynamic design conducive to driving performance. The design combines performance with luxury elegance. The body is 4760mm long, 1920mm wide and 1345mm tall with a 2870mm wheelbase.
The powertrain is the 5.0L V8 gasoline 2UR-GSE engine that’s used for the RC F and GS F. The North America model puts out 475ps/7100rpm and offers 54kgm/4800-5600rpm of torque. The transmission is 10-speed AT.
The LC500h hybrid version has Lexus’ newly developed Multi Station Hybrid system. The powertrain is the 3.5L V6 2GR-FXS gasoline engine. It puts out 300ps/6600rpm and offers 35.5kgm/4900rpm torque. The whole system with engine and motor puts out 360ps.
Lexus announced that the LC500 and LC500h are about to embark on a European tour. They will tour 25 of Europe’s most important cities in order to promote the models to potential customers. The release of the new models is set for summer of 2017 for Europe.
