2016 Beijing Motor Show: Suzuki showcases Ignis Trail and Ignis Water Activity Concepts

Suzuki Motor Corporation unveiled its Ignis Trail Concept and Ignis Water Activity Concept for the first time outside of Japan at the 2016 Beijing Motor Show, which commenced on April 25.

Based on the Ignis crossover, the Ignis Trail Concept was launched last October at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. According to Suzuki, “For even greater compact crossover enjoyment, the Ignis Trail Concept expands upon the Ignis concept of urban and outdoor versatility by offering even greater rough road suitability with its rugged design.”

Meanwhile, the Ignis Water Activity Concept was unveiled in January 2016 at this year’s Tokyo Auto Salon. Suzuki said, “This compact crossover model is a perfect fit for grown-ups who actively enjoy adventure weekends.”

Suzuki’s lineup of automobiles also included six production models: the Vitara (the Escudo, in Japan), SX4 S-Cross, Alivio, Swift Sport, Grand Vitara (the Escudo 2.4, in Japan), and the Jimny (the Jimny Sierra, in Japan).

As for motorcycles, along with the unveiling of the all-new SV650 ABS sport bike in China, Suzuki is showcasing the Hayabusa from its lineup of production models.

Suzuki is planning to release the production version of the Ignis to the Chinese market within 2017. The Japanese automobile and motorcycle manufacturer is also scheduled to begin sales of its all-new SV650 ABS in China from this May.
