Nissan made the world premiere of the 2017 GT-R at the 2016 New York International Auto Show, which opened its doors on March 23. At its first public unveiling, Olympic sprinter Usain Bolt made an appearance.
Nissan hired Bolt as its brand ambassador, naming him “Director of Excitement,” in October 2012.
Bolt set a new world record at the London Olympics. Bolt, who has gone on to win numerous gold medals, was chosen as Nissan’s Director of Excitement GT-R ambassador as part of a global marketing effort to spread Nissan’s brand.
Usain Bolt appeared at the auto show at the new GT-R’s unveiling on March 25. The new GT-R, which is built for even faster speeds than previous models, was a big draw at the event.
Bolt took pictures to celebrate the occasion in front of the new GT-R with event attendees.
